Food Storage RECIPE KIT {Emergency Preparedness} PRINTABLE

My Computer is My Canvas

  • $7.95

If you LOVE my Emergency Preparedness Planner and the "Food Storage Layering" concept in it - you will LOVE this recipe book!

One of the reasons tackling food storage is overwhelming and expensive is because we try to base it on the way we eat TODAY. Food storage, however, is not for NORMAL times. It's to sustain your family in times of emergency like job loss, economic downturns, inflation, disasters, shortages, etc. During those times you don't need a huge meaty entree with 3 side dishes and dessert every night. You need familiar food that is filling, satisfying and sustaining. By methodically collecting recipes that MATCH what you are storing, your family can still thrive!

★ 94 Page EDITALBLE Recipe Book; 8.5x11
★ 5 Basic Recipe Categories
★ 21 Food Storage Recipes to get you started!
★ Includes Tips, Charts & Conversions (and more)!
★ Spiral bind or use 3 ring binder (spines included)

5 RECIPE CATEGORIES: Main Dishes, Snacks & Sides, Breads, Desserts, Mixes & Blends

WHAT IS THE "LAYERING" CONCEPT: (chart included)
Layer 1 starts with essential, ONE ingredient entrees that only need water and heat to be prepared. They are simple, filling and cheap entrees that require no extra ingredients. Oatmeal for breakfast, rice for lunch, potatoes for dinner! Then, as you add each layer, you will increase the variety of recipes you can make and increase the overall nutritional value of your storage. As you can see on the bottom half of the chart - as you progress through each layer I've made note of the types of recipes you can build with what you have stored. Simply substitute items as desired based on your family's palate and allergies. To plan and calculate your family's food storage "layers" - please see the Food Storage Section in my Emergency Planner. (HERE)

It is GREAT!

I highly recommend putting this worksheet to use. It is easy to follow and gives you a great starting point. This is every bit as important, if not more so, as storing food!

water storage- and how to tackle it

I love the water storage layers. It really gives you the numbers, once you have the numbers you can move forward to preparing. Love the fact that it starts with water bottles, because anyone can do water bottles!
For the longer term, we do water bricks with 3.5 gallon each, still have the numbers/amount I need allows me to tally up my needs.
If you're stuck on how to start or how much water storage this is a great tool.
