ECZEMA EASE Salve

Both my Nativity Salve & my Fall Salve formulas contain yarrow as the base herb - AND BOTH have received rave reviews when it comes to managing eczema outbreaks! So, because those are both seasonal blends, I went to work researching specifically what additional herbs I could ADD to my already amazing yarrow base to target eczema specifically - and that's how this formula was born!

HOW TO USE IT: Simply apply on affected areas and repeat as needed throughout the day. Works best at onset - so keep this salve nearby! This formula is especially great for sensitive skin and is generally okay for little ones, just test a small patch first (see note below).

IS THIS SALVE SAFE FOR BABIES & LITTLE KIDS? This is a tricky question - because to "label" it as "baby safe" I'd need to jump through all kinds of FDA hoops, which I'm just a small home biz and can't do that... but what I CAN do is tell you MANY of my close friends and family use my salves on their littles with great success and confidence. There are no chemicals, preservatives or steriods in my salves - I use a very short list of natural ingredients. With that said, with any skin care product, there is always a potential for allergies... so, just like you would do with any new product, simply test a small area first before using regularly or on a larger area. And, of course, if you have KNOWN allergies, please do the same research on my ingredient list as you would ANY product you would use on yours or your family's skin. ♥ PS... My sister-in-law uses this on her 8 month old and applies it on his bothersome eczema patches whenever she changes his diaper. She has used it on his forehead, arms, tummy and legs - AND LOVES IT!! His skin is currently beautifully clear and they have been SO grateful to NO longer be using the steriod cream (that never really worked anyway)!

• INGREDIENTS: Sweet Almond Oil (Infused with Yarrow, Calendula, Plantain & Comfrey), Beeswax, Essential Oil blend of Frankincense & Lavender 
  
• Allergy note... Sweet Almond Oil is derived from Almonds. 
• It's has a green hugh... will it stain? I've used these salves repeatedly and have never had any clothing stain. However... I probably wouldn't use it while in my wedding dress, and definitely don't send it through the laundry! {wink, wink!}

A NOTE ABOUT MY SALVES:

My salves are released in small homemade batches after a special (and proprietary) infusion process that took me 6 years to develop! My goal is to move as much of the natural medicinal goodness as I can from the herbs into the oil... and the result is a whole line of salves that have been uniquely currated to be surprisingly effective! In our home, we grab a salve before we EVER pop a pill!

 ABOUT YARROW: Yarrow is PACKED with medicinal benefits and is the star of the show in this salve formula! It's widely known for it's skin healing properties. It is antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial which helps prevent infection, reduce redness and is known to speed the healing of minor skin wounds and irritations. It's particularly effective in calming the red, irritating and itchy conditions caused by ezcema. 

 ABOUT CALENDULA: Calendula flowers have antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties that make it useful in healing wounds, soothing eczema, and relieving diaper rash. It's also used as an antiseptic, can help calm redness, reduces inflammation and can ease skin discomfort. It's skin-loving properties make it an excellent addition to any skin soothing salve!

 ABOUT PLANTAIN: Medicinally, plantain is considered an all-purpose skin healer! From bites to burns, cuts to scrapes, itchy patches and dry patches and red irritations, this is often the first plant an experienced herbalist will grab. It's an excellent addition to any skin salve and is also antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory & antiseptic making it a great ingredient for eczema salves in particular!

 ABOUT COMFREY: One of the most desireable components in comfrey leaves is allantoin, which is known to promote cell formation that aids in healing at the cellular level! Comfrey ointments have been used for centuries to heal broken skin, calm redness and reduce bruising. It also contains anti-inflammatory properties making it a great topical pain reliever as well!

  ABOUT LAVENDER: Besides its divine aroma, it's widely know for its anti-microbial properties and has been used for centuries to fight infection. It's full of anti-oxidants which contribute to it's ability to speed the healing of burns, cuts and wounds by accelerating skin re-generation. It's a natural pain reliever and reduces inflammation!

ABOUT FRANKINCENSE: Frankincense Oil is prepared from the hardened gum resins that come from tapping Boswellia trees. It has anti-bacterial properties, is known widely for its wound healing properties, it reduces redness, relieves irritations, and is a known analgesic (or pain reliever)!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

• WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE? The shelf life of the oil in the salve is 1-2 years. However, to enjoy its medicinal benefits the most, I recommend using within a year.
  
  
• HOW MUCH SALVE SHOULD I USE? In general, consider using a "small glop" the size of a pump or two of lotion and apply over the affected area 2-3x daily as needed (use less if it's a tiny area, of course)! In general, a minor topical skin issue will use much less salve than a joint or muscle issue where you are massaging the salve in. See my website or check your product label for specific application recommendations.
  
  
• ARE SALVES SAFE FOR BABIES & SENSITIVE SKIN? I haven't conducted FDA approved clinical trials, so I can't label my salves as "for sensitive skin" or "baby safe." But, I can tell you MANY of my close friends and family use my salves on themselves and their families OFTEN & REGULARLY with great success and confidence. Just like with ANY new skin care product, there is always a potential for allergies or irritation... so test a small area first before using regularly or on a larger area. If you have KNOWN allergies, take note of the ingredient list provided on each label. And, of course, discontinue use if any kind of reaction or irritation occurs. Salves with menthol crystals, camphor, peppermint and eucalyptus are NOT intended for young children and babies.
  
  
• A NOTE ABOUT CONSISTENCY: Depending on the temperatures where you live, your salve will arrive with a general consistency between a neosporin-type oinment and a slightly firm vaseline. Softness of the salve will vary based on your particular climate and seasonal temperature. Since the salve contains beeswax, avoid leaving in a hot car or in the sun to prevent melting. Your tin will be shrink wrapped to prevent any dripping if it does happen to soften during transit. If melting does occur, simply put it in the refrigerator to return it to its normal consistency.
