ACNE ATTACK {Oil Cleanser}
NOTE: THIS PRODUCT SHIPS IN 2-7 BUSINESS DAYS
This awesome combo of herbs and essential oils makes a bacteria-fighting, pore shrinking, inflammation-calming, toning, scar-reducing, skin-healing SALVE & CLEANSING duo that will stop acne in its tracks! Not only can it tackle current breakouts, it'll help prevent future ones! As a teen, I took HARSH medications to treat my acne, I'm SO thrilled my teens never had to!! Great for both facial AND back acne - hormonal, cystic, or just because you're a teenager acne!
OIL CLEANSER? FOR ACNE? YES!!
When you use soap or chemical-based wipes, you are STRIPPING your skin and forcing an UN-balance of natural oil production. How does your skin respond? It panics and OVER produces oil to replace what you just stripped! The soap you are using might ACTUALLY be the CAUSE of your acne!! At the very least, it's certainly NOT helping it!
FIVE reasons you should ALWAYS use an Oil Cleanser for acne-prone skin!
- Oil cleansers dissolve excess sebum (the oil your skin naturally produces), makeup, and impurities without disrupting the skin's moisture barrier.
- When the skin is stripped of oil (as with many soaps), it overcompensates by producing more oil, which builds up in the pores and worsens acne! Oil cleansing helps maintain the skin’s natural balance, reducing excessive oiliness.
- Oil cleansers can break down sebum, sunscreen, and makeup more effectively than water-based cleansers. This deep cleansing helps prevent clogged pores, which can lead to acne.
- Oil cleansers are pH-friendly, supporting a strong, healthy barrier against bacteria and environmental stressors. Soaps and chemicals can upset this delicate pH balance, which leads to irritation and upset pores!
- Soaps often contain sulfates, chemicals, and detergents that irritate sensitive or acne-prone skin. Oil cleansers have fewer ingredients, no harsh ingredients, and mine (in particular) is formulated with skin-loving, anti-inflammatory botanicals known to help calm acne-related redness and irritation.
- Formlated with "non-comedogenic" oils - which means, oils that DO NOT clog pores!
EASY TWO-STEP ROUTINE: So easy, even a teenage boy can do it!
- Using 2-3 pumps of Oil Cleanser, massage onto a dry face with dry hands in circular motions for about 30 seconds, allowing the cleanser time to dissolve excess natural oils, makeup, and other impurities. Next, wet your hands and continue massaging in circular motions and watch as the oil turns into a soft, milky lotion-like emulsion! Then... splash to rinse off, or gently wipe clean with a damp, warm cloth.
- Apply "Acne Attack" Salve (like lotion) to your entire face, a "lotion-pump" size will do. You should use the salve after cleansing at night, but can also use it in the morning if you need a moisturizer after showering. Use as needed throughout the day as a spot corrector if you have a particularly sore pimple!

MY FORMULA: INGREDIENTS & WHY I PICKED THEM
DANDELION & CALENDULA: Both of these flowers are naturally anti-inflammatory (so they reduce redness and swelling) + are anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and fight the bacteria that causes acne! So it both attacks it AND prevents it!
YARROW... is a natural astringent (which means it shrinks and tightens skin and pores), it controls and balances your natural oil production and also balances your skin’s pH! It’s also anti-inflammatory so it helps calm angry blemishes; and it is known to help reduce the appearance of scars.
PLANTAIN... is a star skin healer because it contains allantoin, which promotes skin regeneration and reduces scarring. It also has anti-bacterial properties which make it a great acne fighter and preventer!
SWEET ALMOND OIL: Besides being “non-comedogenic” (which means it won’t clog pores) and a cold-pressed oil (meaning it wasn’t extracted with chemicals or heat) – it’s packed full of the vitamins your skin craves! Vitamin A for starters (AKA… retinol) which stimulates skin cell growth and can smooth fine lines. It has Vitamin E which is known to prevent cell damage from sun/UV exposure. It also has Omega-3 fatty acids that regulate the skin's oil production, improve skin hydration, subdue breakouts and can minimize signs of aging.
LAVENDER: Besides his heavenly, relaxing aroma – lavender is seriously anti-bacterial and is a known acne buster! It also unclogs pores, clarifies skin and reduces inflammation. It’s also a natural astringent, so it goes to work shrinking, tightening, and toning the skin.
FRANKINCENSE: Although it has anti-microbial properties and will fight the bacteria that causes acne… it also reduces redness, it’s an astringent so it shrinks and tightens, lifts and tons! It’s also known to improve the appearance of scars.
HANDCRAFTED IN SMALL BATCHES:
My salves, infused oils, lotions, creams and scrubs are handcrafted in small batches using special (and proprietary) infusion processes that took me 6 years to develop! My goal is to move as much of the natural medicinal goodness as I can from the herbs into the oil... and the result is a whole line of salves that have been uniquely currated to be surprisingly effective! In our home, we grab a salve before we EVER pop a pill!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
-
WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE? The shelf life of my salves is 1-2 years; however you'll enjoy the most medicinal benefit within the first year.
-
HOW MUCH SALVE SHOULD I USE? In general, consider using a "small glop" the size of a pump or two of lotion and apply over the affected area 2-3x daily as needed (use less if it's a tiny area, of course)! In general, a minor topical skin issue will use much less salve than a joint or muscle issue where you are massaging the salve in. See my website or check your product label for specific application recommendations.
-
ARE SALVES SAFE FOR BABIES & SENSITIVE SKIN? Many of my close friends and family use my salves on themselves and their families regularly with great success and confidence. Just like with ANY new skin care product, there is always a potential for allergies or irritation... so test a small area first before using regularly or on a larger area. If you have KNOWN allergies, take note of the ingredient list provided on each label. And, of course, discontinue use if any kind of reaction or irritation occurs. Salves with menthol crystals, camphor, peppermint and eucalyptus are NOT intended for young children and babies.
- A NOTE ABOUT CONSISTENCY: Depending on the temperatures where you live, your salve will arrive with a general consistency between a neosporin-type oinment and a slightly firm vaseline. Softness of the salve will vary based on your particular climate and seasonal temperature. Since the salve contains beeswax, avoid leaving in a hot car or in the sun to prevent melting. Your tin will be shrink wrapped to prevent any dripping if it does happen to soften during transit. If melting does occur, simply put it in the refrigerator to return it to its normal consistency.
- It has a green or yellow hue... will it stain? I've used these salves repeatedly and have never had any clothing stain. However... I probably wouldn't use it while in my wedding dress, and definitely don't send it through the laundry! {wink, wink!}
