Did you know that salves aren't JUST for skin? In fact, in our home, we grab a salve before we EVER pop a pill! We use them all the time to soothe and relieve joint pain (ie... back, knee, etc), headaches, muscle strains and more. For this little kit, I'm even bringing back Dandelion Salve - as it's a must have wound-treater for any first aid kit! These little half ounce tins fit nicely into this cute 3x5 retangle tin - making it a great gift, but also super convenient for purses, backpacks and on the go.

• It's green... will it stain? I've used these salves repeatedly and have never had any clothing stain. However... I probably wouldn't use it while in my wedding dress, and definitely don't send it through the laundry! {wink, wink!} The DRAWING SALVE will stain, please read specific details below.

A NOTE ABOUT MY SALVES:

My salves are released in small homemade batches after a special (and proprietary) infusion process that took me 6 years to develop! My goal is to move as much of the natural medicinal goodness as I can from the herbs into the oil... and the result is a whole line of salves that have been uniquely currated to be surprisingly effective! In our home, we grab a salve before we EVER pop a pill!

ABOUT EACH SALVE:

 BONES & JOINTS: (INGREDIENTS) Comfrey infused Sweet Almond Oil, Comfrey Extract, Beeswax, Frankincense & Lavender Essential Oil

• Comfrey Salve has been traditionally used as a topical ointment for relieving bone and joint pain. It's commonly found in pain-relieving creams, particularly those that target arthritis and is noted in some studies to be particularly effective for knee and back pain! Frankincense and Lavender add to its intense anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving qualities! It heals tissue so quickly, it should NOT be used on open or deep wounds.*  

 MUSCLE STRAINS & SPRAINS: (INGREDIENTS) Arnica infused Sweet Almond Oil, Arnica Extract, Beeswax, Frankincense & Lavender Essential Oil

• Arnica Salve is an effective topical pain-relieving salve, in particular, for use on sore muscles, tender joints, bruises and for a variety of aches and pains! Got carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis, or arthritic joints? Then definitely give this one a try! Arnica is known for speeding up the healing process and is effective at reducing swelling. Frankincense and Lavender add to its intense anti-inflammatory and pain relieving qualities! It can also be used to promote pain-relief and healing of minor topical skin wounds.*

 SKIN & WOUND: (INGREDIENTS) Dandelion and Calendula infused Sweet Almond Oil, Beeswax, Lavender Essential Oil

• Dandelion & Calendula are power-house herbs when it comes to skin and wound care! They speed the healing process and support skin re-generation. In our home, we use it on bug bites, stings, scrapes, cuts, burns, scars, acne, cracks, dry/chafed skin, dry elbows, diaper rash, rashes, hangnails, weird dry spots, and more. Its pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties make it an infection fighter and pain reducer. We consider it an all-purpose skin healing balm.*

 HEADACHE RELIEF: (INGREDIENTS) Arnica, Peppermint & Spearmint infused Sweet Almond Oil, Arnica, Peppermint & Spearmint Extracts, Beeswax, Lavender Essential Oil

• Arnica, Peppermint, Spearmint & Lavendar create an effective combo for easing tension and stress headaches and can even soothe and take the edge off a migraine! Simply rub a small amount on the forehead, temples, back of neck and sinus areas... then repeat as needed. For my full blown headaches and/or when Tylenol just isn't enough, I feel like this salve finishes the job! It works best at early onset - so keep this salve nearby!*

 COLD CARE & CONGESTION: (INGREDIENTS) Sweet Almond Oil, Menthol Crystals, Beeswax, Eucalyptus & Lavender Essential Oil

• Over the counter menthol ointments are based with petroleum... a by-product of gasoline!! No thank you!! This salve is made with NATURAL menthol crystals that come the mint plant! Combine and infuse that with Eucalypus and Lavender and they work together to clear congestion, relieve tightness in the chest, open airways and relive sinus pressure. It's a petroleum-free alternative to common Vapor Rubs. Rub on chest and breath the vapors deeply. Keep away from eyes.*

 DRAWING SALVE: (INGREDIENTS) Yarrow infused Sweet Almond Oil, Activated Charcoal, Bentonite Clay, Beeswax, Tea Tree Essential Oil

• Got a stubborn splinter that is too deep to grab with tweezers? Use this salve to "draw" it out! The Yarrow and Tea Tree will work over-time to prevent infection while the activated charcoal and bentonite clay coax pesky splinters to the surface. Dab a small amount directly on the splinter, cover with a bandage overnight, wash, then remove exposed splinter. Repeat if necessary. It can also be used for boils, stingers, and in general, for drawing impurities and foreign objects out of your skin. It works by softening the skin, this softening also creates pus that helps push the object out. This WILL STAIN bedding and clothing, so make sure it's covered!*

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

• HOW MUCH SHOULD I USE? For each application, use a "glop" about the size of a pump or two of lotion and rub it in well. Apply as needed; 2 to 3 times a day may be ideal for an active need. 
  
  
• CONSISTENCY: Depending on the temperatures where you live, your salve will arrive with a general consistency between a neosporin-type oinment and a slightly firm vaseline. Softness of the salve will vary based on your particular climate and seasonal temperature. Since the salve contains beeswax, avoid leaving in a hot car or in the sun to prevent melting. Your tin will be shrink wrapped to prevent any dripping if it does happen to soften during transit. If melting does occur, simply put it in the refrigerator to return it to its normal consistency.
  
  
• SHELF LIFE: The shelf life of the oil is 1-2 years. So don't put this away in a 72 hour kit that won't get touched for a few years... keep it in your medicine cabinet and you'll find that you'll use it ALL the time! It'll be gone well before the oil in the salve would go bad.
